Over the course of the year, did your project change and grow into something unexpected? Describe.
My project grew into something which I never expected. I never thought my project would reach out internationally and beyond my high school carrier. Yes, I always hoped that my children's book might one day be published, although I did not imagine it would be in the very near future. Nor did I imagine that so many people would be interested in my book. I truly am humbled by the people who have helped me and the feats that my book has the potential to reach. How will you incorporate the final project/product into your presentation? What will be your visual representation(s) of the work you did throughout this year? During my presentation the judges will be able to see all my rough drafts and palettes I used during the illustration process. I will also pass the final project around the room so they can see how everything was put together. I will also have my paint set and templates used during painting available and ready for the judges to also experience. What are some of the roadblocks you’ve encountered in completing your project and how did you overcome those roadblocks? During the printing process and publication process of my book I can into major communication issues between myself and the company. These issues were resolved when I emailed and called the company and we had the miscommunication/lack of communication squared away. This was the only roadblock I really had during the process. As you researched for your paper, what connections did you make between your paper topic and your project?
My senior paper research topic is analyzing how folktales and stories in Vietnam reveal the culture and psyche of the vienamese people. Both my paper and project focus on stories which observe, greater understandings and lessons to the readers. In what way have you been communicating with your mentor? How are you staying on track with your mentor as you move towards completing the project? My mentor and I both clear our schedules every saturday morning to meet with each other (Almost every saturday). During this time, we work on different scenes and paintings in the book. I keep a time log of my hours and the dates of our meetings, we also after each session go over our next meeting. My mentor and I communicate a lot and always achieve what we need to when we meet. What action steps do you need to take during 3rd quarter to finalize your project (knowing that all projects must be completed by April 30)? If your project is complete, assess the final outcome. I need to finalize the manuscrpit, finalize the publisher, have the manuscript translated into vietnamese, have the book pulished and then send it ti Vietnam. This is my college essay. I wrote the essay on my experience back to Vietnam. ***a little more background and inspiration to my project (Recommend reading)*** |
